Course Description: Learn high end publishing and page layout from the essentials to the advanced level. This is an important part of the print designers knowledge set for creating single or multi-page documents.
Who Should Attend: Graphic designers and desktop publishers new to InDesign or wanting to pick up some extra tips in the advanced classes.
Prerequisites: Fundamental knowledge of operating system and saving files.
Session 1 (3 hours)
The InDesign Workspace and toolset
Drawing text and graphic frames
Basic text formatting
Importing graphics
Importing text and linking to multiple frames
Pages Panel - adding and deleting pages
Text wrap
Session 2 (4 hours)
Using Master Pages to create standard document layout features
Using automatic page numbering
Strokes and borders
Using CMYK, Spot colors and tints
Gradients
and Using Kuler in InDesign
Advanced text formatting including indents and tabs
Creating and using character and paragraph styles
